Who we are
Youth Theatreworks is a non profit organisation; we are committed to the growth and development of young people in theatre. We provide a stage for young people to explore their talents through an array of classic dramas. By staging international stories from the rich core of enduring masterpieces, we can provide a bountiful well of literary entertainment for family audiences.
What we do
Youth Theatreworks provides an exciting creative environment for young people passionate about theatre. We take time honored, classic stories and turn them into stage wonders with amazing costumes and rich characters. Many of the stories started out as books and some have been made into films, plays and musicals. They have been translated into many languages and enjoyed by millions of people around the world.
We love casting plays with an array of colourful, diverse characters - the angry, wicked and the cruel; the valiant heroes and heroines, the deprived, downtrodden and the liberators; the compassionate, the innocent and the brave. The actors love playing these roles and audiences are treated to vibrant, lavish plays.
Our cast are selected from the most talented young actors throughout Auckland. Most performers are teens with senior cast up to 25 years old.
Classic stories never die. They are our timeless heritage. What better way to keep them alive than having today’s passionate young actors present them to you on stage!
Fun-Intensive Workshop
Our professionally staged productions are the result of an intensive audition process, followed by a dynamic workshop/rehearsal period taking place over a 12 day period. Our cast get to work with some of the best directors, tutors, designers, and technicians from the New Zealand theatre industry.
We invite only top professionals in their field to advance and develop our actors to reach their potential. The results are outstanding!

Friends of Youth Theatreworks is an invaluable support group who assist with fundraising and productions. We invite you to join us in any activity from fundraising, donations, publicity, set building/ painting, costumes, props, catering, rehearsal assistance etc. Click here to send us your details.

Maintaining Your Privacy
This Privacy Policy discloses Youth Theatreworks information gathering and dissemination practices. It describes:

Information about you will be collected by Youth Theatreworks and held at Youth Theatreworks in Auckland. Information from the database will also be used by Youth Theatreworks for marketing purposes, planning, production development and research.
Information about you will not be provided by Youth Theatreworks to any person except as provided in this Privacy Policy.
